Recipes for gin, rye, vodka, rum, scotch, and collins drinks, wine facts, recipes for party food and punch, mixing terms and hints, even bar glasses to send away for -- this is one useful little booklet for your hard core booze hound. There's even a price list for Canada's ten provinces and two territories: In September 1959 a bottle of Gilbey's Gin cost $3.75 in Ontario, $4.45 in Alberta, and a whopping $5.00 in the Northwest Territories. A bottle of something called Gilbey's Invalid Sherry (?!?) cost $2.10 in Ontario and Alberta and wasn't offered in NWT. It's also nicely designed and attractively laid out with great 50's fonts and swinging illustrations of all the drinks. |
